01 to 20 - Folia de Reis Folia de Reis (popular religious festival): In Paraty, the Folia de Reis begins on December 8, feast of Our Lady of the Conception and ends at 20 de Janeiro. During this period, groups of guitarists and singers of traditional music gather in places previously scheduled to recite ancient poems that tell the story of Jesus' birth.
