Paraty em Foco International Photography Festival - 21st to 25th September

The 7th edition of Paraty em Foco 2011 has opened inscription for the workshops. There is also a call for expositions to select projects for the festival.

Paraty em Foco 2011 is one of the 10 most important photography festivals in the world according to Raconteur on Photography magazine. 

The Paraty in Focus 2011 theme is #FUTURE. Future has always fascinated man. After discussing the present of the planet in the "Earth Inventories" [the theme of Paraty em Foco 2010], its logic that we look into what the future might bring, transforming the historic city in the territory of Pythias for one week. One inevitable debate will be on the future of photography and digital technologies, the other main topic is what the future world will look like. To discuss these issues we are inviting artists, photographers, thinkers and scientists to directly or indirectly discuss the future of images.

The seventh edition programme includes 14 Interviews with Brazilian and foreign photographers, exhibitions located throughout the city, more than 20 workshops, an intense schedule of projections, the second edition of Reading Portfolio, and the traditional auction.

To participate you just need to be in Paraty during the event. Workshops and Reading Portfolio do require an inscription; and all other activities have free access.
